White Water Treatment - Process Info
White Water Treatment - introduction and background
Excess white water from the approach system flows from the wire silo to the white water chest. From this chest white water is pumped to the disc filter.
The disc filter is used to clean white water and to produce shower water.
All incoming components, white water, sweetener and filtrate from the broke thickner, are mixed in a static mixer prior to the disc filter.
The level in the disc filter vat controlls the speed of the disc filter.
In the disc filter white water passes through a fiber bed formed on top of a plastic filter fabric.
In the disc filter white water passes through a fiber bed formed on top of a plastic filter fabric.
The fiber bed consists of a fiber mixture from the mixing chest called sweetener.
The white water is filtered through the sweetener.
The fiber bed is taken off by knock off showers.
Two or three filtrates (cloudy, clear and super clear) are taken out from the filter vacuum valve. Dewatered sweetener is led to the mixing chest.
